Hehehe, this is a little long I suppose but I have difficulty keeping these such things short. I was using all the approved characters as a reference for this guy's bio though so I hope it's not too bad. I won't be at all surprised if I am reprimanded for this being too long but I hope everyone finds it a good read at least. I own this OC jointly with Sasha-Fierce01 as we both created him. His outfit is based on a character from Death Note and the RP Sample at the end is 1,151 words. I have my fingers crossed that this is ok!



Name: Marian Slipgizzle (never used due to the necessity behind keeping what race he belongs to a secret. If his name were to be searched for in the galactic archives, he would be found listed amongst the dead. See Species for explanation.)

Nickname: Linkerster or Link (he can no longer remember why he chose this name but he has used it since the age of 4) and sometimes Sparky (but only by Felicia in certain situations).

Age: 25

Sex: Male

Species: Kippy – The Kippy’s were a peaceful and technologically advanced race of technopaths who mainly kept to themselves and resided on Planet Toridah. They were no friend of the Ice-jin Empire and after refusing to surrender and work for them, the entire planet was destroyed in the 760 Age. There were no known survivor’s and in official records, the Kippy’s are listed as an extinct race.

Homeplanet: Planet Toridah (pronounced: “tor-ree-dah”)

Family: Link’s parents both died in the destruction of his home world leaving Link the last of his family and his kind.

Eyes: Bright pink (a racial trait)

Height: 5 ft, 5

General Appearance: Link has the tanned brown skin and lime green hair of his people. He is easily recognised in a crowd as he wears his pink goggles atop of his head. He also wears a black and purple striped long-sleeved shirt, cream coloured cargo pants, rubbery black elbow-length gloves and casual sneakers. He is also rather skinny and quite lanky.

Mental Level: Who knows? One would think that being a technopath would make him incredibly smart, but it doesn’t. Sometimes he’s a complete idiot who can’t even remember whether or not he slept the night before and other times he knows everything about anything!

Abilities: He is a technopath as all his people were and if it’s electrical and/or mechanical – he can fix it! (And if it’s not already broken, it soon will be. He’ll do anything for a chance to examine, pull apart and rebuild a new gadget.) Link’s memory is astounding when it comes to technology and he never forgets the design and OS of any device or machine that he has had the opportunity to use and/or pull apart.

His power level would register at around 20 even though he does not use energy attacks. However, he can generate a powerful electrical blast as either a defensive attack (as he sticks to the peaceful beliefs of his dead race) and later on, to power a machine. (Note: His electrical blast will grow more powerful over time. Also see Random Information and/or Weapons of Choice for full details.)

He knows some Capoeira (a style of martial arts) as the courtesy of his best friend, Felicia (Sasha-Fierce01’s OC), using him as her occasional sparring partner. Due to his significant inferiority to her in battle, he was demoted as her designated punching bag a long time ago – a fact that he has never stopped being thankful for.

As a technopath, Link’s skills are quite well developed. He has the ability to establish a psychic link with computers and machines simply by being nearby, making him an ideal hacker. As a flaw, however, the more he is ‘linked’ to a computer, the less aware of his physical body he becomes – making him quite vulnerable. He can also become sick from computer viruses while connected to a computer but in the event that he survives, he will become immune to that particular virus and can even recreate and alter it in his mind. (See Random Information for full details.)

(Note: Later on, Link’s technopathic abilities will become so strong that he will only need to be near a machine and/or a technological device in order to mentally acquire the blueprints to its creation rather than have to pull it apart or use it.)

Weapons of Choice: Link likes bulky hand guns that will make a lot of noise when fired but will settle on throwing his giant spanner at you if his guns aren’t close by. If the situation qualifies (see Random Information for full details), he can omit either a controlled or wild explosion of electricity that can range anywhere between being powerful enough to kill his target or simply give said person a mild electric shock. (Whether an intended kill-shot is lethal or not also depends on his strength and the strength of the person he is attempting to kill.)

Occupation: He is best known as the mechanic aboard the Ramorna (a cargo and transport ship in which belongs to Felicia, who is both the pilot and the captain) although he is an adept computer hacker and electrician.

Personality: Link is a funny, carefree kind of guy who is easy to get along with and hard to offend. He holds no grudges and struggles to take anything short of a life or death situation seriously. He can be cheeky and a bit of a prankster and he likes to crack jokes and will openly hit on those he finds attractive with a wink and a grin. Despite his seemingly disorganised and forgetful nature, he is extremely reliable and deadly loyal. Although that odd habit he has of talking to machines as though they answer back can make people stop in mid step and slowly back away…

History: Marian Slipgizzle was born on the Planet Toridah sometime in the 757 Age. His people had managed to escape the attention of the Ice-jin Empire for many years by continuously wiping themselves off the galactic archives with their aim being to make the rest of the universe forget that they even existed. The Kippy’s also offered no outwards assistance to those who would oppose the Empire and avoided any interaction with other races and worlds as much as possible. They were a rather secretive race but were still surprised at how long it had taken when they were finally contacted by Prince Cooler.

It was demanded that they immediately surrender and participate in creating and further developing weapons and machinery for the exclusive use of the Empire. Knowing the end result, they naturally refused and fought back using their powerful and highly advanced weaponry and energy deflecting shields. It was a tough fight but sadly, they failed just as they knew they would and Link’s entire race and home world was annihilated overnight. He was then only 3 years old.

Link was the sole survivor of the genocide of his people as his mother was able to save him just in time by sending him to the nearest inhabited neighbouring planet via an experimental molecular teleportation machine (created by the Kippy’s). The machine was also destroyed along with the planet (although, due to having used it before, Link now has the blueprints of its creation imprinted into his subconsciousness. So far, he has only been able to remember these blueprints in his dreams).

(Note: Currently unknown to Link is that not only was he teleported off-world before Planet Toridah was destroyed but his mother also sent a small cube into space that contains all of the knowledge of the Kippy race. The cube is a technological device that can only be read by a technopath. However, as a precaution, Link’s mother programmed it so that that only a technopath with Kippy genes can read it, making Link the only person left in the universe who has the ability to regain the knowledge of his dead race. Not only were the blueprints to the teleportation machine imprinted into his mind but his mother also made sure to download a map to the location where she sent the cube into his brain before sending him away. The program that will enable him to read the map is designed to lie dormant until he needs to reclaim the knowledge. This is only a suggestion for an RPG that can be used if it is approved.)

The planet Link wound up on was a backwater planet that served as a trading post and drop off point for smugglers and other unsavoury types of people. It wasn’t long before he was caught trying to steal some stale bread as a daily meal and was tattooed and listed as a slave belonging to a local and rather lowly gang leader. Despite this, his entire stay on the planet totalled as less than a month as he quickly tapped into his technopathic abilities and disarmed the slave collar that would track his location and also detonate if he tried to leave the city. He then fled the planet by hijacking a measly fighter ship which he used to leave and travel to another star system to escape his master.

Afterwards, he then did some planet hopping either by stowing away on a large cruise ship or by hijacking another small ship. Life was difficult for such a young child but Link somehow managed to survive. He matured very quickly and lived for quite some time as a common street rat who stole from market places and pick pocketed change from anyone he could.

Link was around the age of 5 when he wandered by a junk and spare part store and happened upon a broken gadget that caught his eye which he then attempted to steal. Link was caught by the store owner named Magnus who was tickled pink to recognise Link’s species from bar talk and rumours. Magnus offered to teach Link how to survive along with a place to live and an honest job if Link would stay and work for him. Magnus knew the uses (and the dangers) of having a technopath around as they could fix things that were broken.

For 4 years, Link lived with and worked for Magnus. Magnus was very kind and very knowledgeable in how to survive and run a business in such a hard and low class society. He became like a father to Link and viewed him as a son. Sadly, Magnus’ presence in Link’s life was rather sort lived when a crazy junkie walked in trying to rob them one day and wound up shooting Magnus dead. As a 9 year old boy, Link was unable to continue to run the spare part store and left within the following week, taking to the streets again. Thanks to Magnus’ guidance, Link was more street wise and skilful at surviving the second time around and it wasn’t long before he was being paid to do odd jobs for gangs and store owners.

The fourth dramatic change in Link’s life took place a year after the death of Magnus when he entered a bar to deliver a mystery package to the owner. There was much commotion surrounding a few of the tables that day that piqued his curiousity and compelled him to investigate. As it turned out, half the occupants of the bar were deeply engrossed in a game of cards where some major betting was taking place. At the centre of the spoils sat a cage which housed the most prettiest and unfamiliar creature Link had ever seen.

The creature belonged to a local mob boss with no influence beyond the walls of the city and had been found during an emergency landing one of his people had made to an unsettled planet somewhere by the outer rims. It was love at first sight for Link and he didn’t hesitate to join in the game and use every cheat he knew to win in order to obtain the creature. Shortly after winning, his trick was discovered and Link fled the city with the animal tucked safely away inside his shirt and a hail of bullets following him in his wake. He named the creature Gylfie and to this day, he still has no idea what species of animal or even what sex it is.

A week after the incident, Link was wandering about the flea markets in the capital city of Planet Argif with his newly acquired pet. As what can only be seen as a twist of fate, he chose a pretty blue haired girl with a tail to be his next victim and attempted to pickpocket her. Unknown to him, she was much more aware of her surroundings than what she appeared to be and she angrily knocked him flat thinking he was trying to grope her. After enduring a heated tongue lashing from the 9 year old saiyan hybrid, Link immediately took a liking to her, pulled himself to his feet and followed her back to her home world.

The girls name was Felicia and she was a spoilt and headstrong princess of her father’s people. From that day onwards, she became his best and most trusted friend whom he followed everywhere for reasons that are unknown to anyone aside from himself. Unable to get rid of him, Felicia had no choice but to put up with him and he was quickly welcomed and adopted into the royal family as a favoured family friend.

With Link’s bizarre devotion to Felicia knowing no bounds, he was quick to force her into allowing him to accompany her when she ran away from home at the age of 18 (Link was 19 at the time). Unable to stand her father controlling her life any longer and to escape an arranged marriage with a man 16 years older than she, Felicia planned to find her mother’s people - the saiyans -, join the Rebellion and fight against the Empire. And of course, Link happily tagged along to serve as the mechanic on board her ship, the Ramorna, in which both he and she had found and made space worthy some time beforehand.

Currently, Link is Felicia’s annoying backseat driver as they travel from planet to planet chasing the whispers and the rumours of the Rebellion. At the same time, they are also trying to avoid being caught by both the soldiers of the imperial army and the bounty hunters who have been hired by Felicia’s father to find and retrieve his run away daughter.

Love Life/Relationships: His sexual orientation is bisexual and he is not ashamed to admit it!

Felicia (AKA Lalia) – Felicia is a half blooded saiyan and also a spoilt and headstrong princess (but not of the saiyans). Although it’s a question as to which of the two best friends is more intelligent, Link treats her as the leader of their partnership and follows her anywhere she goes with perhaps a joke and a complaint or two. She finds him irritable at times and often beats him up which he shrugs off with a big grin on his face. There is little she can do or say that will honestly upset him and she couldn’t get rid of him even if she wanted to. Link is her most loyal and truest friend and wherever she is, he is bound to be close by. For all intents and purposes, Link could be seen as her backup and partner in crime. (See History to learn how Link met Felicia. Please also note that she is Sasha-Fierce01’s OC.)

Random Information:

*Link cannot be electrocuted.

*Link has a mild sweet-tooth and usually has either a lollipop or stick of bubblegum being sucked on or chewed in his mouth. As a result, he has mastered the art of talking clearly while preoccupied with said bubblegum or lollipop.

*Link has an unjustified fear of water and cannot swim. He panic’s if he is fully submerged but suffers no problems with baths and showers.

*Link has a pet ‘thing’ which he named Gylfie (Link can no longer remember why he chose this name) that can be seen perched from either atop of his head, upon his shoulder or poking through the neck hole of his T-shirt. Its species and origins is completely unknown as it was just something someone found on an unsettled planet (although Link still browses the galactic archives from time to time to see if any record of the creature has popped up). Gylfie’s sex is also as much as a mystery as its origins although Link refers to it as a ‘she’ as he decided Gylfie looked pretty enough to pass as a female. Gylfie prefers to eat fruits, vegetables and insects. (See History to learn how Link acquired his pet.)

*Robots LOOOOOOOOOOOVE Link! And he’s just as equally fond of them in return.

*As a weakness that is exclusive to all his people, Link can become ill from computer viruses – the very reason why he must be careful when establishing a psychic link with computers. They can also kill him although if he survives being sick with one of them, he will become immune to that particular type of virus and will be able to recreate it in his mind. He can also even alter the virus before distributing it to wreck havoc in an actual computer. So far, Link has survived two different types of computer viruses of which he has never found a need or desire to recreate.

*So far, Felicia is the only one aside from himself who knows his real name. He told her because he trusts her more than anyone.

*Only when Link is near death or in a desperate situation can he draw on the energy of nearby machines to restore the strength to his life force. By using this same technique, he can also charge and execute a more powerful electrical blast (see Abilities and/or Weapons of Choice for reference. Please also note that he will become more able to suck the power out of machines as time progresses).

*Link has always had a deep respect for the Rebellion seeing as the Empire was responsible for the genocide of his entire race. For reasons only he knows, he never considered trying to join the rebels until his best friend, Felicia, ran away from home and decided to do just that.

*The code on Link’s right arm (his slave tattoo) is: XL-8792458-L

RP Sample:

Link winced in pain and discomfort as he landed spread-eagled on his back as he struck the hard ground. He managed to spare a moment to feel relieved that his strange pet had decided to hop onto the canvas shade of the nearby tent when his trail of thought was interrupted by a booted foot connecting with his chest. Luckily for him, the pressure on his rib cage was intended for intimidation and to hold him down rather than to hurt him. And after being knocked over like that, he didn’t doubt for a moment that this girl could cause him some serious pain without even trying.

He blinked in surprise against the bright midday sunlight as he gazed up into the furious face of his blue haired assailant.

He’d been on Planet Argif for four days now and he actually hadn’t even been trying to get into trouble for a change. The streets of the capital city, Argee, were hot, dusty, crowded and simply daunting if you weren’t used to it. But Link felt right at home in the midst of the noise and mass of sand streaked people in the market place. He didn’t even have to try to rob those who were in too much of a hurry to spare a thought towards the brightly dressed boy who bumped into them as they passed.

Living off stolen cash was something he only did until he got settled in his new town when he would switch to the honest work of an errand boy. And when he was finally old enough for customers to take him seriously, he planned to set up a shop much like the one he had run with Magnus a year ago. But from the murderous look in the girl’s eyes, he had a feeling that spending a while behind bars was also a probable possibility as well. It served him right, he supposed, for getting careless. After so many successes, the idea that he might get caught no longer crossed his mind. Wishfully, he silently hoped she’d let him off with a mere sound beating.

The young girl sneered down at him, her brilliant green eyes burning with anger. He didn’t blame her for being pissed with him, of course. He’d be seething too if some nutty looking kid plucked up the gall to try steal from him.

“How DARE you!” She yelled, her fierce and lithe figure looming over him. If he’d been in a more upright position, he would have been tempted to cower before her in terror. Her loud, screeching voice caused some heads to turn as they passed on by but no one stopped to watch. At least he had that to be thankful for, the situation was already humiliating enough as it was.

Sheepishly, he put on what he hoped was the best innocent face he’d ever expressed. But when her eyes narrowed, he knew she wasn’t fooled.

Her foot dug harder against him, making him gasp. “Who the Hell do you think you are?” She snapped.

Who did he think he was? Well, that was actually a pretty good question although now was hardly the time to speculate on the thought.

“You snivelling pervert! Didn’t anyone ever tell you that it’s not polite to grope people? Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t beat you to a pulp right here and now!”

He could think of many reasons that immediately came to mind but none that she’d probably care to he- wait, what?

Link frowned up at her quizzically, briefly wishing he could dare to move his arms to pull his goggles down over his eyes to shield his abused irises from the glaring sun. “P-Pervert?” He stuttered in shock, unable to believe what he was hearing.

Maybe he wouldn’t be dining on prison slop tonight after all!

She slammed her foot against him again, nearly knocking the wind out of him. “Don’t talk to me, buster!” She snarled angrily. “I forbid you from speaking again until I give you permission to do otherwise! Now, I demand that you apologise to me for your disrespect at once! And if you’re lucky, I may even let you go with just a warning!”

Oh dear God, sweet mother of Jesus, she was a freaking noble! Nice going, Linkerster! Can’t you see the golden jewellery and the fine silk clothing hidden under her dark, peasant cloak and that layer of dust? Of course you had to notice AFTER you tried to rob her because someone was too busy letting himself be distracted by that buzzing piece of techno-whatever-it-was that guy back there was holding. Stupid, stupid, stupid!

“Felicia!” Someone cried out somewhere in the midst of the rows of stalls and tents of on sale items. The girls head snapped up in the direction that the call had come from, momentarily diverting her attention from the boy at her feet. Link wasn’t desperate enough to make a break for it though. He could sense the sleeping strength behind the pressure of her boot and he had no desire to be the idiot who woke it up.

Her eyes swung back down to meet his gaze as she suddenly removed her foot from his chest. He immediately sat up but didn’t bother to try get up again just yet.

“You!” She snapped, “You’re lucky that I have to rush off and catch up with my companions. If I had time, I’d teach you a lesson you wouldn’t forget anytime soon. Now beat it and don’t let me ever see your ugly face again!”

With those as her final words, she whirled around and stalked off into the crowd at a brisk walk, leaving him to gawk after her from his seat in the dust.

He barely noticed as his pet, Gylfie, dropped down from the top of the nearby tent to politely sit beside him on the ground. Link watched the girl for as long as he could until she finally vanished from sight as she was swallowed up by the crowd.

A grin suddenly broke out on his face as he made up his mind and he finally turned to acknowledge his little friend.

“She’s cute, don’t you think?” He asked her (or him). Of course, Gylfie didn’t reply aside from tilting her head to the left. He pulled a lollipop out of his pants pocket, unwrapped it and popped it in his mouth whilst stuffing the wrapper back where it belonged.

“She called me buster!” He mused aloud as he held his arm out which Gylfie immediately took as her cue to scramble up to her place atop of his head. He then hopped up onto his feet, pulled his bright, pink goggles down over his eyes before scrambling after the girl at an awkward looking run.

“Hey girl!” He yelled, still grinning like an idiot, “Wait for me!”

Wow. The history part was a bit lengthy bit ... wow...that was really good!

What an interesting character - I warn you now, if my character Reffinest ever runs across Link, then she is going to have a field day teasing him. Mainly cause she'll be trying to work out what he is...a dangerous thing for him seeing as she works for the empire.

Word to the wise - if Link doesn't like water then he might want to stay away from Ted, our resident water demon.

Hahaha, that'll make a good game. Link meeting Reffinest I mean. I look forward to finally being able to play! My friend and I will want to start the Neo Vegeta thread for the newbies though.

As long as that water demon doesn't try to throw him in, Link shouldn't have any problems with him.

And my answer to that is easy - it all depends on the situation. As I said in the bio under 'Personality', he struggles to take anything short of a life or death situation seriously. If the RP sample gave you a different impression then I didn't write it right.

My one warning is thus: keep an eye on Link's abilities and make sure they grow at a normal rate. Going from needing to touch a machine to being able to control one two galaxies away requires time and character development, not an instant shift.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you like him. Well, we (as in me and Sasha) weren't originally planning on him having any extraordinary abilities but I've forgotten what made us come up with the technopath idea. Either way, I'm rather glad I thought of it now.
